What is CHONDROPLUS ?

CHONDROPLUS is Stabilised and Different from Other HA Products CHONDROPLUS is a collagen tripeptide (CTP) and hyaluronic acid (HA)- based, viscoelastic gel for the intra-articular treatment of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee, ankle and hip.

What should I know about CHONDROPLUS ?

CHONDROPLUS uses patented synthetic collagen technology which gives it a unique gel particle structure. The unique and patented stabilization technique of collagen tripeptide ensures that the naturally entangled HA network is kept in place by introducing a very limited number of synthetic binding, resulting in minimal modification. The Ctp used in Chondroplus was a highly purified synthetic tripeptide fraction containing Gly-Xaa-Yaa sequences. Articular cartilage has extremely small pores (estimated 50 A) in superficial zone. So only low molecular weight compounds (< 20 kDa) in synovial fluid may diffuse into tissue.

About CHONDROPLUS

CHONDROPLUS is a single injection to relieve the pain of knee or hip osteoarthritis. CHONDROPLUS is a collagen tripeptide and hyaluronic acid (HA)- based, viscoelastic gel for the intra-articular treatment it is based upon a safe and proven technology. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule that provides the lubrication and cushioning in a normal joint.

Collagen Tripeptide act of mechanism

  • Collagen tripeptide (Ctp) is a highly purified, nonantigenic fraction containing Gly-Xaa-Yaa sequences .

  • Various small peptides were recently reported to possess growth factor activities .Furthermore, Ctp stimulated chondrocyte type II collagen gene expression in the preliminary in vitro study. From these findings, Ctp administration within the joint would suppress the loss of cartilage matrix by increasing expression of type II collagen, subsequently preventing proteoglycan loss and promoting matrix synthesis

  • Collagen peptides have recently been reported to possess various biological activities for various cell types and combining HA and amino acids was shown to have positive effects on the synthetic ability of fibroblasts

  • CTP effects on cartilage regeneration can be explained by two different mechanisms: enhancement of cartilage matrix synthesis, and inhibition of cartilage degeneration.
